Pop Winds – “Perennial”

I could say something about Pop Winds’ debt to Merriweather Post Pavilion, or the way the group is capitalizing on extremely of-the-moment trends in indie.  But what would the point be?  That sort of chatter always feels a bit accusatory to me, so fuck it.  Just listen to this in its own right!  Their new album, The Turquoise, is a gorgeous rush of driving percussion, glimmering synths, and a whole lot of saxophone.  This song jumped out as one of my initial favorites — that sax lick that comes in as it nears it’s climax is bliss.
