Top 50 Favorite Albums of the Decade

As my brother said in his post, I’m not making any claim that these are THE BEST of the decade, but merely my favorites. Furthermore, such a list would almost certainly change over time as I hear new things and my tastes change. For instance, I’ve been listening a lot lately to Yeasayer’s “All Hour Cymbals”, El-P’s “Fantastic Damage”, a bunch of Ghostface, etc, and these things would probably weasel their way onto the list with a little time. But for now, just enjoy, contemplate, agree with, and shit on this list that I’m making for no apparent reason when I should be prepping for a presentation tomorrow or going to bed. I’ve had fun with it, and please debate. And feel free to call me lame for the profusion of acoustic-y singer songwriter-y stuff occupying the top spots; that’s just the type of music I keep coming back to over and over again.

(0). Wilco – Kicking Television – this being a live album, I sort of disqualified it. But it’s probably the one that’s racked up the most play counts, and as a manifestation of LIVEWILCO it represents the concerts that have probably been my favorite musical experiences of all time. So consider this the shadow-first-place.
